African American Read-In

The Department of Education and the Black Studies Program of Washington College, the Kent County Public Library and Sumner Hall are combining forces to offer Kent County’s 2019 African American Read-In.
5:00 pm – 5:45 pm – SESSION ONE: stories for children and the young at heart. Family-friendly. All ages welcome!
5:45 pm – 6:15 pm – A quick break for a light dinner
6:15 pm – 7:00 pm – SESSION TWO: readings that may contain more mature themes
Come to read or listen! Readers should choose a short piece of writing by an African-American author (2-3 minutes). You may bring a favorite piece or choose from a curated collection of books that will be available.
